Really enjoyed our visit to the castle. Lot more to see and do than we had expected. The rooms had lots of information and interactive activities. The price was reasonable, especially as it allowed you to return visit for a year. As a slight warning there are lots of stairs . The view from the top of the tower was well worth the climb.

What a fantastic place to visit so full of our history. And the tickets last for a year, so if you want to go back numerous times. It will make it well worth buying. But be aware there is no lift for the castle garth. And lots of steps to climb. But we'll worth it as the experience it fantastic on the roof. There is a few floors which are good to explore and get a wee break from climbing the stairs.

Just had a really interesting visit. There are two remaining parts of the castle, the first has the ticket office & small museum area and other rooms and then a very short stroll to the keep which is quite impressive. There is plenty of signage and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. It's an easy 5 🌟 rating. No hesitation in recommending.

Beautiful castle. First, we had a lovely free tour with a guide Jessica around the castle. It was very nice and informative. Then we explored the castle- it was fascinating to know about its history and to walk into every room. The view from the castle top is truly amazing. After that we returned to the ticket office to buy some souvenirs - a very lovely shop with affordable prices. Definitely worth visiting.

One of the best castles we have ever visited! Loads of stairs, turrets and ‘hidden rooms’ and in great condition, but without looking like a stately home! Fantastic views from the roof. The staff / volunteers were extremely helpful & friendly. Would love to visit again, which we can for free within our first year.
