Although I haven’t had the chance to visit Tynemouth Priory and Castle yet, it already looks like an amazing place. The historic ruins, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful sea views make it look truly special. It seems like the perfect place to explore, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere. I definitely hope to visit it one day!

Wonderful priory with views of out over the North Sea, where we were amazed to see dolphins! There is such a peaceful almost spiritual energy around rhe ruins, which are beautifully maintained. Perfect for a relaxing wander and quiet reflection.

Afraid to say this place is not worth the price of entry. You can see most of what there is to see from the outside. Not much knowledge is to be gained from inside. It could be greatly improved by providing a few more plaques to let visitors know what they are seeing. Clerk was kind enough to let me know some things to look out for, but without a map or additional information, I never found those things on my own. The exception here is probably for WWII fanatics, who might really enjoy seeing the guns and bunkers.

Fantastic views and English Heritage guides. The priory and castle is perched atop the cliffs overlooking the North Sea. It offers spectacular views and is so rich with history, spanning back to the 12th century. Much of the priory is just ruins now, however, the volunteer guides are very knowledgeable and paint the picture perfectly for you. Highly recommend a visit!

A very cool site, the priory ruins are next to a graveyard, which is next to a ww2 gun battery The priory is very cool, there isn't much of the church standing, but the gatehouse is pretty intact. Unfortunately there is a lot of conservation work going on, so there are several areas blocked off. There are a few signboards around. The graveyard is very interesting, there are lots of very old and beautifully carved graves The gun bank has a replica gun, and some of the underground areas have been restored as they were during ww2, with information boards and some sound recordings. The exhibition area is a small building doesn't have a lot in terms of an exhibition but it does have some fun games for kids. There is no attached car park but there are some close by.
