Newquay Zoo was a lovely day out. We visited on the 1st of July, arriving just after opening, and we stayed there until just before closing time. There is a good selection of animals, and we were lucky enough to see almost all of them. The keepers talks were interesting and engaging, especially the Hyena talk. There are plenty of picnic benches and seats located throughout the zoo, handy if you need a break. The zoo isn't large, and the areas are well connected, so it's really easy to just flit from one area to another. We've taken our kids to many different zoo's, safari parks, and animal parks over the last 20 years. I'd estimate somewhere between 30 and 40. We never get bored of visiting them. Some of the biggest, and most well known ones (and most expensive), have also been the least enjoyable. Newquay Zoo has struggled, and it's evident it needs some money spent on it, but it was great to see that it has new owners who are investing in it's future. We had a great day out and we'd definitely recommend visiting. Parking is in the leisure centre carpark, and we paid £7 to cover us for the day. Please note, that images on Google show lions at the zoo, however, they were moved to another zoo in 2024.

Lovely little zoo, right in Newquay. Lots of great animals to see from lynx, penguins, zebras and otters to name a few. Great way to spend a couple of hours. Book online to save a bit of money on the tickets. Would definitely return next time I'm in the area

What a beautiful zoo! Newquay Zoo is on the smaller size compared to some other zoos I have been too, but it still had a variety of animals from Monkeys, Meerkat, Linx, Tortoise and lots more! All of the enclosures where beautifully designed and we're of good size for the animals. The animals seems to be well cared for. The exotic house is a MUST see, absolutely enchanting to be in there with the sloths and birds free roaming around. We were lucky enough to visit during feeding time, so we managed to see the Meerkat, linx and Sloth having a good munch. Staff were very informative, the keeper for the new Brown Hyena was giving a group of us a lot of information about them. Small cafe on site, not the biggest selection of food and it was on the pricer side for chips and hot dogs. But some beautiful places if you chose to take a picnic. Gift shop at the end, and the lady working was very helpful and informative as we where looking for a Teddy with Newquay Zoo on it, as there in the process of changing ownership the new logo still hasn't been updated in the gift shop, which left little choice for items that had Newquay Zoo on them. All round a great few hours out, definitely recommend the visit.

It's a fine balance between letting the public see the animals and letting the animals hide if they want to! Spot on,as usually patience is rewarded and produces at least a glimpse of some of the more elusive creatures. The food offerings are ok but could do with a little more choice. However the staff are lovely throughout the venue. Overall a great visit despite losing a couple of items due to my own stupidity!

A lovely, compact zoo set in beautiful gardens, perfect for a relaxed half-day out. It’s easy to walk around and well laid out, with a good mix of animals including lemurs, meerkats, Savannah and tropical species. The surroundings feel green and peaceful, which adds to the experience. Staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable, and there are play areas and picnic spots that make it especially enjoyable for families. Most people spend around 2–3 hours here, making it ideal if you don’t want a full-day commitment. On the downside, it’s not a huge zoo, and some visitors feel certain enclosures are on the smaller side or that the price is a bit high for the size. Parking can also be an extra cost. Overall, it’s a charming and well-kept zoo that’s great for families and casual visits. Just go in with the expectation of a smaller, more relaxed experience rather than a large-scale wildlife park.
