We did a stop over here on our way home. There was a temporary exhibition being held on the ground floor - I grew up 80’s. I was greeted by old toys such as Guess Who?, an old-style TV and audio player, images of movies and music from the 80s, and books from the same period. The basement was an exhibition about shoes. For me, the interesting shoes plus their corresponding descriptions on the screens were for the oldest forms of footwear, and footwear that was created with symbolic meaning in mind.

Really enjoyed my visit to Northampton Museum. The atmosphere was lovely and quiet, making it easy to take everything in. There are so many interesting pieces of history to explore, and the shoe section in particular was a highlight. A great place to spend a calm, inspiring afternoon

Came here for a candlelight concert. So didn't get to see much of the museam/gallery but from what I saw it seemed like a lovely place. The staff were really friendly, the toilets were clean and there was a decent offering from the cafe. Would like to come back to have a good look round the museum.

Everytime I visit Northampton this gallery and museum is a must visit!! My favourite part of the exhibition at the minute is the graffiti banksy inspired chicken and the kinky boots in the 100 exhibition! 💯 The shoe museum is also good! I have visited the shoe museum a good few times now! That's been there since I first visited ☺️ there is plenty to see! And the current temporary exhibitions are also awesome 😎
