English heritage estate of a 12th century castle remains. Steps up to walk around castle walls and you can walk around grounds admiring the countryside.

Fantastic castle to visit, off the beaten track. Nice flat level ground to walk around with information boards proving historic detail. Within the walls you can climb up steep stone steps to walk around the walls and down the other side, which are stable wooden steps with hand rails.

Fairly small castle. Set in some lovley countryside with great views. You will only spend 2 hours or so max here if you bring a picnic. Small shop, and limited toilets facilities (two tiny multi sex WCs, and a disabled WC). Free car park next door.

Nice place to spend a hour or two to learn the history of the castle 🏰 views are outstanding the a quite a few steps to go up to the battlements , prices are fair and of course free if you're a English heritage member.

We have visited many times as English Heritage members. Great for a picnic. We love this spot. Good parking, but a long walk from town if you don't have wheels. Decent toilets. Nice walk to Duchy of Cornwall. Will definitely be back.
