Excellent outside tour by Elizabeth with lots of interesting history and facts. Cross garden and rose garden full of glorious scented roses and lavender. Views superb. Paintings in the house include many family portraits plus more modern artwork. Loved the Maggie Hamblings and Kate Rhodes 'The golden hour'. Cafe good and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.
Wonderful castle rich in history especially the English civil war. Recommend a visit to the church as well. We struggled on the disabled parking area as my wife was in an electric wheelchair as it didn't cope with the sloping grass. Just glad it wasn't wet but other than that had a great visit & staff so helpful.
Lovely property with loads of parking. Expensive entry fee for how much of the property you see. Only one tea room with limited seating and long wait on drinks
Fascinating domestic rooms still used by the family. Gardens immaculate not a blade of grass out of place. Magnificent views from café terrace.
Nice place, some lovely rooms with interesting stories, you get a sense of how it had changed through the years. Interesting to see how big this castle once was in its heyday.
