A quaint tearoom perched at the end of the pier offering a range of delectable treats including ice creams, light bites, and gourmet cakes. 5-star food hygiene rating.
A perfect afternoon. Family ties to Southend but never actually been and was looking forward to going on the pier. A lovely warm summer's day with a light breeze coming off the water made for a joyous stroll out and then we got the train back, which apparently is the preferred way to do it. At the end is two cafés, toilets, an RNLI lifeboat station & gift shop but no penny arcades if that's your thing. At the shore end there was good disabled access to the pier (upper level) & train (road level), with lifts between the two and a gift shop. Slightly bumpy pushing the wheelchair over the planks on the way out but otherwise no real issues and walkways in good order. Thete was level wheelchair access straight on & off the train without the need for ramps. A thoroughly memorable day that will stay with me for a long time.
It was a nice experience. We can buy ticket from the shore up and down 7.50 pounds. A ten minutes journey from the shore to sea. It is a must journey recommend it to visit. Reaching in the sea there is also place for cafeteria, restaurant and can sea also rescue boats etc. good place to walk and catch fishes and see some ships near by, cargo ships etc. altogether nice experience. When you come back the pier you can also go to adventurous park where each ride cost four pound or 25 for one day ticket per person. And other games stations are near by also gives a nice location for all activities with family
Visited Southend Pier recently and really enjoyed the experience. The views across the sea are beautiful, especially on a clear day, and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. The pier itself is well maintained and has plenty to see along the way. It’s a great place for a peaceful walk, photos, or simply enjoying the fresh sea air. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.
Had an ok experience , there was litter everywhere! Brought fish and chips from outside and wanted to go eat it on the pier but was told not to by security guards even though we saw other people eating food from outside. Toilets had a funny smell to them. One of the cafes on the pier we waited over 15 mins first inline for just a single drink and just got glared at. Lovely pier but think staff need improving
Great attraction to visit. If you have children with you, buy the train ticket. If you want some exercise, take a walk (2.6 miles return). There's also a museum which was closed during my visit, and a nearby amusement park. There's several food and beverage facilities at the end of the pier, as well as bathrooms.
