It is rare to find an art gallery so close to the coast and even rarer to find one near such beautiful white sands and turquoise sea. The setting is amazing. The building is striking. Wheelchair access (but some may need help with the long inclined ramp). The price to view the art (£14) is a little disappointing, althought members are free, as it seems high for what you are seeing and may exclude some people. If you are on a budget or used to visiting the other Tates for free it may be a bit too high for what is on offer. The real gem is the café. I know this may sound odd when talking about an art gallery. The views from the tables, and viewing platform are amazing. To look upon the roofs of the tightly knitted streets across to the beaches, harbour and beyond are worth the trip alone. To have a cup of tea and slice of cake whilst doing so is a bonus. The Tate at St. Ives is well worth a visit, the price for the gallery may not be.

Absolutely loved our visit to Tate St Ives, and it’s been a bit of a dream of mine to get there. It had lots of interactive activities for my son, was absolutely not crowded and the views are absolutely stunning! And a decent collection of modern art of course!

Loved the visit, 3floors, very compact, took us 90min + to walk through, a few gems of art and artists on show, and loved the Kasuba exhibition. The cafe has amazing views from the 4th floor.

Called into Tate St Ives this afternoon to buy two annual locals passes for a tenner each. Superb value. Had a look around the galleries whilst we were here and enjoyed a cuppa each in the cafe on the upper floor. A very nice visit and with our annual passes - we'll be back! See you soon.

The Tate Gallery in St Ives is compact but very well packed. You can see major artists and a great selection of modern works in a space that feels easy to explore. The way the exhibitions are curated makes the visit smooth and enjoyable. The building itself is impressive, and the terrace with a sea view is a real bonus. It is a great stop if you are in St Ives, even if you do not usually spend much time in museums. Thank you Alfie for your interpretation and explanation of the Chagall’s “Bouquet aux Amants” painting, it was the peak of our visit !
