Norwich, United Kingdom•4.9(640)•Art Gallery, Play Café

Interact with 20+ rescue cats in a calm, library-like cat lounge while enjoying drinks and sweet treats at this unique cat-themed arts centre.

The Cat House is a distinctive cat-themed arts centre and lounge located in Norwich, offering visitors a one-of-a-kind experience combining cat interaction with creative activities. The venue features over 20 rescue cats of 14 different breeds available to cuddle and play with during daily lounging sessions. Rather than operating as a traditional cat café, The Cat House serves quality drinks and sweet treats in a serene, library-like environment designed to keep both cats and guests calm and comfortable. Beyond the cat lounge experience, the venue operates as a full arts centre and gallery, hosting workshops, classes, and art exhibitions. Visitors can explore cat-themed merchandise, participate in various creative activities, and enjoy a therapeutic experience centered around human-animal interaction. The venue explicitly welcomes cat lovers of all ages and emphasizes that the cats are permanent residents not available for rehoming, though the centre does assist local people with cat rehoming through their social media channels. The Cat House is suitable for families with children aged 10 and above (no babies permitted), with a maximum of two under-15s allowed per adult. Advance booking is advised due to high demand. The venue includes on-site parking and offers gift vouchers for those wanting to give the experience as a present. This combination of interactive cat experience, arts programming, and themed merchandise creates a unique destination for animal lovers and creative individuals alike.

Beautiful place, we didn't really try the food so I can't comment on that - you get a token on arrival which means you get one drink free, which is fair as an hour session is £10 per person. The drinks we had were ok, but I think the focus should be more on the cats rather than having lunch. Some of the cats avoided us but that was partially because it's really hot, and I don't blame them. Overall it was a fun experience :)

As we’re a family of cat lovers, our daughter wanted to surprise my husband for Father’s Day with a visit to The Cat House in one of the Father’s Day sessions. We all absolutely loved it! The cats were all so lovely as were the cakes, coffee and milk shakes. Staff were very friendly, and it was a lovely, relaxing atmosphere to be in. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. 😻🐈

We just had our first visit and we'll definitely be coming back! We loved the venue and the cats. The staff are friendly and helpful too. The lounge session was relaxed and none of the cats were forced to interact or be anywhere they didn't want to be. It was lovely to see the close bonds they had with the staff and they clearly are well looked after. We can't wait to come again soon!

Absolutely Amazing My sister and me had the most wonderful all day session. The cats are so well looked after their wellbeing is paramount and that shone through all day. The staff are so lovely, super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The Cat House is so relaxing with soft soothing music playing quietly in the background and comfortable sofas and chairs to have cat cuddles but Lots of toys for the cats so that you can play. The coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes and cake were delicious. I will definitely be returning The Cat House is now my favourite place

Cozy area, wonderful staffs and friendly cats with big personality! We were spending time here a day before my birthday and one of my friend didn't have a booking due to miscommunications. The staff was so nice and luckily still let him in and book within the moment so he could spent time with us! We are so grateful for that! The cats are absolutely friendly, recognisable and full of personality! We saw them playing, one was hilariously trying to eat our cake (we didn't let him) and allows us to pet. The cafe there was absolutely delicious and had a adorable paw printed mocha! I'm definately coming back there for a drawing session!
