It's free and there is 5000 years of history, give or take. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and there are some cool objects. The gallery of the dead is the best and more what you expect an Egyptian gallery to be like. There are QR codes on each of the shelves and objects which link you to more in depth information on each thing. As well as the cases full of items there is an interactive exhibition which is pretty cool but is aimed kids. You have to press the walls to learn about the main gods and a quiz. There is a scarab beetle team game and the opportunity to wrap a mummy. The gallery of the living is still cool but contains more jewellery type things. All in all a great visit, we learned some things and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well recommended. Don't use the post code as you'll end up in hospital. If coming from Swansea it's the turning before the hospital into the uni campus.

Great experience, we went on a Saturday morning (16th May). The volunteers on the weekend are students, I was extremely impressed by them. They were friendly, polite and very knowledgeable. They allowed us to look around by ourselves but were happy to help visitors in anyway if wanted. I want to especially highlight two of the volunteers today (in the room of life). Ethan greeted us when we arrived and then another volunteer (can’t remember his name unfortunately), showed, explained and allowed us to hold a few artefacts. He was extremely knowledgeable and polite. If I hadn’t been informed that he was a young volunteer, I would have thought he was an experienced member of staff. We spent an hour and a half there, perfect for a rainy morning/afternoon.

Very welcoming staff/volunteers. Newly refurbished musuem/centre with 2 main rooms, life and death. One of the volunteers explains with the use of aids, mumification. He was very well informed and humorous, geared more towards children, however very informative and enjoyable. Other volunteers in the Life room gave talks on materials used by the pharaohs and tomb builders. Plenty for children to do, including colouring and soft play. It was a very interactive experience and well worth a visit

Fantastic place!!! We have visited today with our children and it has exceeded our expectations. The place is very child friendly with an interactive mummification talk, dress-up, play area, colouring. Amazing artefacts for the adults to see too. The staff are enthusiastic, welcoming and knowledgeable. Highly recommend

A wonderful museum about ancient Egypt. The museum is on 2 floors l, but they are raising money to refurbish the lower floor. The video is display of a mummy bandage which after xrays turned out to be a snake. They have a lovely virtual display of the snake. The pottery with the dark top is around 5000 years old as is the translucent bowl. Amazing quality. Enjoy your visit
