Really well organised mini zoo. Variety of animals to see and learn about, with a café and play areas for the little ones. Very reasonably priced, and free parking. A great place to visit.

Perfect for families with little ones! The Fenn Bell Project is easy to navigate and can be covered in an hour, making it ideal for toddlers. Great facilities, including a play area, cafe, and clean toilets all in one vicinity. No on-site parking, but there’s plenty nearby if you follow the signs. The squirrel monkeys were the highlight for us—too cute!

I had such an amazing experience visiting the Fenn Bell Conservation Project Zoo – it truly exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this isn’t just a typical zoo, but a place that genuinely cares about animal welfare, conservation, and education. One of the things I loved most was how close you can get to the animals. The interactive experiences are incredible and feel safe, well-managed, and respectful to the animals. Being able to feed and meet some of them up close made the visit unforgettable. The staff were absolutely fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They were always happy to answer questions and share interesting facts, which made the whole experience even more engaging. The variety of animals is also really impressive. From reptiles and birds to mammals and exotic species, there’s so much to see and learn about. Each enclosure is well-maintained and designed with the animals’ needs in mind, which is really reassuring to see. You can tell the animals are well looked after and comfortable in their environment. What really sets this place apart is its strong focus on conservation. It feels good knowing that your visit is supporting important work to protect and care for animals. It’s not just a fun day out – it’s meaningful too. The facilities are clean and well organised, and there’s a lovely, relaxed atmosphere throughout. It’s perfect for families, animal lovers, or anyone looking for something a bit different and special to do. Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a hidden gem and definitely worth visiting – I’ll 100% be coming back again!

It's an overall ok experience in my opinion. The conservation area is really small which I expected from other reviews. We managed to go round the whole area twice in one hour. From the start, the access to park is extremely limited until another guest informated me there's an overflow car park (by the new development) which was great! We entered and immediately started exploring, the highlights were the meetkats and monkeys as they are quite a few of them. Everything else fell a bit flat as there were usually one or two other animals. Such as otters or red foxes. My son loves animals and is nearly nine years old. For him, I think he was too old and the whole place seems catered to younger children. He was just able to play in the play area as all the items seemed small. He had a good day but was ready to go after an hour and a half, which is the only thing that matters and it was local. Would I come back here again, no! But I would recommend it to parents/carers of much younger children.

Didn't even know this was on our doorstep ( well 20 mins away) . It's a small zoo but don't let that put you off. It has an array of animals , alot behind glass rather than weird cages, which is good for photographers. Maybe go on a warmer day when you are likely to see more, but even on thexday we went we managed to see quite a few. Atcths moment all of the birds areas have green fine netting around then due to avian flu, and while this isn't great to see , it shows that they are looking after their animals properly. They have just opened a new tropical area and have a sloth which ( when it eventually does move) must be good to see. They also plan on getting a crocodile or alligator for this area and also butterflies .it was well set out and lots of boards of information and Considering it isn't a big zoo, we spent a decent amount of time here. The entry fee was reasonable too. They have a cafe , which is serviced by the pub , again prices were ok. We had a bit of a wait for the food, but it was busy and a special mention to the young lady servicing the cafe ( Ella) , who even though run off her feet , always had a smile on her face. For those that want to bring Thier own food , there is a large picnic area with benches which is good. Kids will love it. They also do experience days fod anyone wanting to get closer to the animals. All in all a nice day out. I'm sure we will return .
