What a beautiful sanctuary… A friend adopted Darcey for me for my birthday so obviously I had to visit when in the area. We had a lovely morning here, they do such an amazing job caring for these fabulous animals. There’s a great vegan cafe too, with good coffee and cake. A must visit if you love donkeys..

Sat nav took me on the most ridiculous roads so be aware of the route before setting off as it was very frustrating. However, once there I was completely captivated by the donkeys. Such beautiful animals and I'm so glad they've found peace and are now being well cared for. I adopted Juliet online before my visit. Definitely a worth a visit if you're in Cornwall.

Beautiful place with such a caring atmosphere. You can really see how hard everyone works here, especially the many volunteers who help make it all possible. The donkeys are clearly very well taken care of and loved. It was heartwarming to see the dedication to giving these gentle animals a safe and happy life. The vegan cafe was also such a lovely part of the visit — the food was absolutely delicious, and the compassion and kindness shown there really reflected the whole spirit of the sanctuary. I also love that you can adopt a donkey and directly support their care (we adopted 2). Such a special place and definitely worth visiting.

If you like donkeys or animals in general, go and visit. It's wonderful and it helps stop donkeys who are not having a great time in life from suffering. It's free to enter. Obviously, being a charity, there's lots of opportunity to donate some money towards a lovely cause, but no-one (when we went anyway) hassled us or was pushy. Volunteers and staff on site were clearly there for good reason and care deeply for these lovely animals. Everywhere was clean and well looked after and the animals seemed happy and content. We went for a couple of hours and had a lovely time - café looked great but we didn't have anything to eat or drink on this occasion. 🤩🤩 Check for opening times as it doesn't open every day 🤩🤩

I always visit Flicka when I am in Cornwall, even if it’s just a fleeting stop. The work this sanctuary does is just incredible. The horror some of these beautiful sentient creatures have endured is heartbreaking and to see the comfort and safety they live in at Flicka makes my soul sing. As a vegan it’s also wonderful to have tonnes of amazing cakes and options to choose from in the cafe. I cannot commend Flicka enough for unapologetically standing by its ethos and ethics. I urge anyone to visit and donate whatever they can!
