Absolutly beautiful. Great price to look into Gardens. The seasonal ticket is perfect and a very cheap way of getting in all year. The walled garden is full of Dave Austin roses, the biggest private collection in the uk. I was surprised to see they were fully labeled throuout the garden. And as they are marked on the garden map/booklet great fun for my daughter to read out and find. We visited July 26th 2026, so roses in staggered bloom. Parking free, and had tearoom and other dining area in the glass house. Food is as expected expensive £4.50 for cake, but staff helpful and friendly. If you are wanting cheep day out pack a picnic and find one of the many seats to sit on throuout the gardens. I would expect in autum and winter that the gardens would be less full of colour, but then I think the expansive parkland and woodland trail may offer a wintery treat instead. There is a huge mix of trees, im expecting to get dragged out time and time again to go and find fallen leaves and conkers.

Beautiful gardens, well worth a visit. 10 pounds for an annual pass is good value. Really nice coffee and cake in the cafe.

Quite a nice walled garden. When we went in May it was a little early for most of the flowering plants, but worth a visit. There was also quite a nice walk down to the stream that feeds the lake and some nice trees. Very good cafe attached where we had coffee and a toasted sandwich, a pleasant afternoon.

Enjoyed exploring the gardens and woodland walk. The later we had to ourselves on our weekday (although school holidays) morning visit. Our dog enjoyed her on lead walk too. Expect it will be better later in the year when more of the plants are out and the payment structure means we can visit as many times as we want this coming year.

We made a 2-hour lunch stop at these beautiful gardens on the way home from a coach holiday, and it was a real treat! There were over a hundred varieties of lovely roses in the walled garden, all of them clearly numbered, and also pergolas, water features, and herbaceous borders filled with colourful flowers. The gardens looked very well maintained, and there were benches and picnic tables. I loved the woodland walk. The paths were a bit steep and uneven in places, but they were well signposted. Was amazed how tall some of the trees were, and along the route there were temples, a lovely view of the hall, and a children's trail with cute animal characters and an alphabet puzzle to solve. The café was quite expensive, but the food looked good quality, and it was hard to choose from the wide selection of delicious looking cakes on the counter! I enjoyed a tuna and cheese melt with crisps and coleslaw, followed by a raspberry and fig frangipani and a latte. Some nice homewares and gardening gifts in the shop. There's also a small garden centre and clean toilets. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily come here again.
