Very relaxing place,we spent a lot more time here than your normal walled garden, very well thought out especially seating to just sit in a beautiful spot, your not competing with others . We got 2 for 1 through gardeners world mag. Perfect, full price is too much personally speaking. Buy their 50 p bag of seed to feed the chickens

Lovely little garden to visit. If you're a resident of the area you can get a year's pass for just £10 which means 1 visit basically pays for it. The friendly ladies behind the desk renewed our passes for us despite the rude interruption of an elderly gentleman who felt he could push in before she'd finished with our passes. Despite this the ladies remained polite towards him & let him pay in the shop as he was in such a hurry. After this we enjoyed our walk around the garden. Some of the iris & allium were open & the rest won't be too far behind, likely the same with peonies & laburnum. The area around the orchard was beautiful. There were still a few tulips in bloom & we saw a few butterflies & birds whizzing around too. Popped into the cafe for a drink & cake before we left. Great place to visit if you have a spare hour or two & if you're a resident get a pass & then you can pop back regularly

A very serene and beautiful garden against the backdrop of Helmsley castle! We parked the car at Cleveland Way car park (£6 for 6 hours), so had plenty of time to explore! The clouds came over which meant we popped into the cafe for coffee and scones for a bit! The glasshouse was converted into an interesting cafe with plenty of fixtures to create interests all around! When the sun finally broke through, it was so pleasant to walk round! There’s still some remaining spring flowers dotted about which added splashes of colour amongst the greenery. It’s completely dog friendly in all areas which was so nice! She got a treat when we purchased the ticket which she loved, thank you!!
