Visited on a Tuesday morning and were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We were invited to join a free guided tour of the upstairs gallery and were so glad we did, as the excellent tour guide, Rupert, brilliantly brought the exhibits to life in an engaging and interesting way. Afterwards we looked around the paid exhibition downstairs and learnt all about the artist Norman Ackroyd and his brilliant etchings/artworks. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours here and could easily have spent more. Would definitely return here in the future and will recommend this lovely art gallery to others!
Victoria Art Gallery is a delightful gallery which houses some excellent artwork of geese, a very, very old sex maniac and a beautiful 15th century painting. Downstairs I enjoyed the pleasures of Norman Ackroyd for only £9. Well priced to see one of the UK's best landscape artists. My only suggestion for the gallery is to stop using the acronym for Victoria Art Gallery. Telling your friends you went to the VAG will surely raise a few eyebrows!
An interesting visit to the Poster Power 🧧 Exhibition at the Art Gallery 🎨 in Bath earlier today, definitely worth visiting! 🏛 A great selection of Hand Painted Posters from the 19th and the 20th Century advertising Holidays, Theatre, Army/Navy and Art Galleries too! 🤔
Small but interesting painting, porcelain and glass collections. The permanent exhibition is free. The temporary one was 9 pounds but worth it, great posters exhibition. Friendly staff. Cool little shop.
Lovely Gallery in a beautiful building the upstairs Gallery has an excellent collection of Paintings and is spacious and bright with some lovely benches. There is also a fantastic collection of ceramics and glassware on display. Currently there is an Exhibition of Posters in the ground floor Gallery, many specific to Bath over the years. Lovely space and definitely worth a visit 😊
