Nifty little museum. Worth visiting if you have more than a few days in Sheffield. Staff were wonderful.

The museum is free to enter but they do ask for a £5 donation per person. The exhibition was interesting and there was plenty of things to take it. Very good value for the £5

So much to see there and curated super well. Really good collections. Lots of great areas for family and kids with activity sections for little ones.

Great place for a trip out. A variety of interesting exhibitions, loads of interactive stuff, friendly staff, plenty of loos, great gift shop and cafe. All in all a great day out!

This amazing museum is located in a magnificent building in Weston Park close to the University and the Children’s Hospital. It is free to enter but donations are always welcome. It’s very well laid out with lots of information about all aspects of Sheffield life together with other traditional subjects such as the Egyptians. When I visited there were people there of all ages; the interactive displays were very popular with children so this museum would be an excellent resource for any families homeschooling their children. I loved the Pete McKee exhibition-each piece a true reflection of growing up in Sheffield. Sheffield has a rich and diverse history which is perfectly captured in the displays. There’s a gift shop and cafe plus toilet facilities including accessible and baby changing facilities. I didn’t go to the first floor but understood there is a picnic area. So much to see and learn, I couldn’t take it all in so look forward to a return visit.
