Not what we thought it was - maybe that’s our fault but the place is called Anne of Cleves house which is a bit misleading. she never lived here, just owned it. There wasn’t much interesting information, so not really worth it. Better off going to visit an actual Tudor house.

Loved that you can buy a combined ticket for both Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House, really good value and makes for a brilliant day out in Lewes. The contrast between the castle views, history and the character of the Tudor house was well worth it. Staff were friendly and everything felt relaxed and well looked after. Also, passing through this morning, I noticed a lovely little patisserie nearby with a really nice seated area and garden, which added to the atmosphere of the visit and made the whole area feel even more inviting.

Fascinating and well preserved 16th-century timber-framed Wealden hall house. Owned by Anne of Cleves as part of her divorce settlement from Henry VIII rather than somewhere that she lived. Worth buying a combo ticket with Lewes Castle & Museum. The timberwork inside was impressive, and there is a lovely little cafe next door

This house is larger than you think from the front. Personally I thought the rear was more stunning. An incredible building with an interesting history. 22 people lived the house at one point although it was divided into three and had a shop! The cafe has a lovely garden area to sit out. Delicious carrot and orange cake available today. A fabulous tapestry is on display, it had a Japanese/Asian style. It was free to enter today and I believe this to be the case this weekend!
