Amazing place to spend the day!! We've been twice now and it's been excellent both times!!! The Aquapark is so much fun! The cafe is brilliant and extremely reasonably priced!! My daughter and her friends absolutely love it here!!!
Myself, 4 adult friends and 4 11/12yos took on the challenge of the course. It was oknweather wise, a little on the breezy overcast side. We were recommended not to wear the wetsuits though as we could 'overheat'. A decision I regretted a little as having only had a costume to wear under it and not have one, my poor legs/knees were tender from the sewn joints of the inflatables. The water seemed clean (no duck poo seen). I managed to complete all of the obstacles and left the highest one to jump off until the end. The multi-person discount saving is a good idea and we even got a money off discount from the establishment via Facebook. An hours time was enough! Great fun. We would def go back. My only negative was the lack of enough lockers, I got one but some did jot work. The showers/changing rooms are very basic. Hot water to enjoy so was pleasant!
Had a great day out with the kids! There was very helpful staff mostly, including a young woman with blue and black hair and a young man with brown hair who helped us find where we needed to go. However, we did encounter a member of staff who was quite rude as we were heading down to launch. He had a brown beard and seemed quite angry. Changing facilities were inaqaquet due to the walls being dirty, underwear on the floor, no toilet roll and the drains being disgusting in the showers. It was horrible to get changed in these. There are two lovely places on site to grab a drink after a much needed paddle in the hot sun. Signage outside of the site meant it was hard to find as on the signs it says there isn't anything there so we did miss the turning. Hope this changes in the future. Except for the negatives, we had a lovely day! Make this review flow better We had a great day out with the kids! Most of the staff were very helpful, especially a young woman with blue and black hair and a young man with brown hair, who kindly helped us find where we needed to go. Unfortunately, we did have a less positive encounter with one member of staff as we were heading down to launch. He had a brown beard and came across as quite rude and angry, which was disappointing. The changing facilities were also inadequate. The walls were dirty, there was underwear left on the floor, no toilet roll, and the shower drains were disgusting. It made getting changed a really unpleasant experience. On a more positive note, there are two lovely places on site to grab a drink after a much-needed paddle in the hot sun. The signage outside the site could also be improved, as it was quite difficult to find. The signs made it seem like there wasn’t anything there, so we missed the turning. Hopefully this can be changed in the future. Despite the negatives, we still had a lovely day overall!
We all (aged 6+) had a great time on the inflatable Aqua Park. Plenty to entertain for the full hour, not too crowded even on a hot day, and the water felt clean. Will definitely return. Changing facilities are decent, two nice cafés. Not much bring your own picnic space though.
A tough review this. Firstly, I have previously used this locatoin for my British Canoe Union FSRT paddlesport safety and rescue course about 10 years ago. So, booking it recently to take my partner for a day out (as a BCU Level 3 Kayak & Canoe instructor and FSRT qualified) was an exciting opportunity. A "late " decision to go meant we couldn't use the web booking (outside 24hrs). We tried to ring but the 11am-4pm "opening " hours means you can not contact the staff in any way at short notice or outside these hours, so we arrived for opening time. So we arrived, signed in for a 4 hour, 2 craft 'launch " session. And off we went, and had a great time, down the far end of the water. On finishing, the lady who had booked us in, then approached us, informing us, the closed cockpit kayaks we had been using (i had brought two of my RPM Daggers) were NOT ALLOWED on the water? She stated some element of H&S preclude the use of "closed cockpit " kayaks. So, if you want to SUP, or Sit on Top paddle, it's a fab place to go (health risks aside - as listed below), but we'll not be back as any "playboat " or "kayak " are unfortunately not facilitated at this site. (We were not using spraydecks). And their H&S imply that if you capsize from a Kayak, you'll drown, rather than get out and swim to safety. ( even though they do operate a "safety boat ". ) However this was not operated permanently on the water, except when driving out to inform clients their time was up to get off the water, or a needs must situation. A shame, as less than 10 years ago, I was qualified as a BCU FSRT instructor at this very site in closed cockpit AND open CANOE RESCUE! 🙄🙄🙄 Ahh, the price of health and safety!🤣 A joke if ever there was! Not the lady's fault, but, given the presence of so many ducks, geese and excessive excrement along the entire area we were directed to launch from and use, they appear more concerned with not allowing closed cockpit kayaks on site but appear to ignore the pernicious and imminent health dangers of Cryptosporidium, E-coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Histoplasmosis and other health conditions, without so much as a mention! Who knew eh? And all because we wanted to go for a paddle in a kayak! Sadly we won't be back. Both of us did have mild stomach upset the following day or two, but that might be coincidental. Showers, changing rooms etc were adequate, but broken toilet door locks, the Disabled toilet door lock ripped off and unusable, a lack of maintenance, a short office day hours operation, the entire operation shut up by 4pm, speak to an unusual business model at best! 🤔 However, as a previous Sea Cadet instructor and onsite controller for water activities, I'd be concerned that the safety boat was not permanently crewed and launched for the entirety of the on-water time, as "monitoring " from the bank and launching for emergencies was not sufficient in my time, and it's use to inform customers of their "end time " is curious! We have found other locations for our future on water endeavours. Like I say, a difficult review, given I like to be as positive as I can. We did have a good day on the water.
