The refurbished pools are lovely, clean and a real improvement. However, the changing facilities are very difficult for families with babies. There are no family changing rooms, very limited space, and only one baby changing table. After lessons with 8/9 babies, some end up being changed on the cold floor. It would be great to have baby pens, more changing tables, or seats/benches where babies can be safely strapped in while parents get changed. This would make a huge difference for families. The lockers are also extremely stiff and hard to lock with several people attempting it and giving up.
Edited the review, Decent facilities if not a bit expensive. Music can be insanely loud in the gym and is off-putting. Seems to be a gym for people who don't work 9-5, closes at 8 on weekends and apparently that'll soon be 7 as I was told today. It would be ok if the swimming pool was open, but you're probably better off going to PureGym for around 20 pound a month and just buying the odd swim now and then. There are barely any evening or early morning classes, and even when the pool is open there is only about 1 hour of general swimming a weekday after 6pm, and some days none at all as it's taken up by clubs. A real shame.
We have attended twice now for tier 4 women's football matches. A decent place with very nice staff but... No food apart from crisps and sweets. No cobs, not pies, pasties, soup or chips. We have followed women's football for 20 years and almost every ground offers hot and cold food. It's not acceptable in T4 of women's football. If and when the leisure centre addresses this I'll change my review to 5 star.
After more than 12 years away from the area, I’ve rejoined Rivers Droitwich Leisure Centre—and I’m so glad I did. The gym and facilities are absolutely brilliant. The equipment is top-notch, with plenty of cardio machines, free weights, cages, and a smith machine—everything you need whether you’re a beginner or experienced lifter. The changing rooms are spotless and well-maintained, and the atmosphere throughout the centre is really welcoming. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, always creating a positive vibe. Even the members are lovely—it’s such a refreshing place to train, and it completely outshines the gyms I’ve used in Kidderminster and the surrounding areas. So pleased to be back—this place is a real gem.
The staff make this a five star visit, the atmosphere is so warm and friendly, our toddler is now on first name terms with several staff member who go above and beyond to make our visits amazing every time. A special shout out to Margret who is the heart of the place! Facilities wise there are a sensible amount of parent and child parking spaces / disabled access spaces. The pool is one of the warmer ones in the area and there are some heated tiles on the floor in the changing rooms. Things are a little tired and an update is due but always clean.
