Receptionist dont ever answer the phone anymore. I called for a good 44 minutes whilst walking in and found the receptionist at the desk whilst phone was potentially on mute. Whats the point in having a landline if you dont ever use it.
⭐ 1-Star Review I visited Rivers Meet Leisure Centre for the first time today, and unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever return. The showers and changing rooms were in completely unacceptable condition. Honestly, the public toilets on Bournemouth beach are cleaner than what I saw here. I came with my 1‑year‑old for a family swim session (£6.50 for an hour), and the moment we walked into the changing area I was shocked. The floors were filthy, covered in dust, hair, and dirt. The air vents were clogged, and there wasn’t a single clean spot to stand while drying off. It felt unhygienic and poorly maintained on every level.also no drying machine for clothes you just expected to walk home with all wet clothes (2026!!!!KARL) To be clear, the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming — none of this is their fault. But BCP Council is responsible for maintaining these facilities, especially considering the amount of money taken from council tax. I genuinely don’t understand how a public leisure centre can be allowed to reach this state. For the level of dirt and neglect, this place should not be open to the public. It’s completely unacceptable
Gym is never busy and, I find, better than Littledown for that. Equipment is also good. Swimming bit hit and miss, no sauna. Tuesday AM best to swim, otherwise loads of local schools use it. Nice wet play. Good indoor play center and ok cafe. Courts are good size but tend to be busy, also pay to park. Nice courts outside and a skatepark that is free. Also a good base to walk the river and associated wildlife reserve.
Great place for children's clubs. You can view them comfortably whilst they do a range of activities. The soft play is also very good. Swimming lessons are small groups, so your child gets better attention. The complex has a bar and you can do trampoline lesson, plus much more.
We came here for the soft play. Parking was easy and pretty cheap (we now have a season pass and 3 hours is included in that, which is great!). Reception staff were lovely. Bathroom facilities were plentiful and I noticed that there were wheelchair accessibility aids (I do not use a wheelchair so cannot comment on their usability). The soft play is new and it shows, everything is clean and colourful. It is a great size for 0-5 year old children and would work great if you were hanging around with a little one while others were in a class. Price wise it's pretty good, £3.50 for 55mins, although I'm sure you wouldn't get chucked out immediately after your session. It is next to the café which offers a dinner deal after 4pm, which I am interested to try out. The centre is a lovely small size and as a result I signed up for the waiting lists for a bunch of kids activities they offer.
