Visited with my senior mum. What a lovely time spent :) Emma gave us an unexpected guide round. Very friendly and super knowledgeable along with her colleague Shirley. So much history in this pocket of a busy residential area. Once you enter the grounds it's a delight of quiet garden areas and the hall itself is fascinating. Definitely worth a visit and/or picnic in the gardens. Upstairs as you'd expect is quite uneven but they have plenty of photos to show you if you aren't able to access the 1st floor easily. Emma and Shirley were very informative and welcoming thankyou :)

Amazing Tudor house to visit. The guided tour was one hour but felt as 10 minutes- so interesting and engaging. My best recommendation!

What a beautiful place hidden in the old part of Yardley. Go and explore it suitable for all the family. Great on sunny days.

This is an absolute gem of a timber framed hall building and medieval building in Birmingham. The building itself was built by local businessman Richard Smallbrook in 1590 and is one of the oldest and finest buildings in Birmingham. On your visit to the Hall you are provided with a really good informative and interesting introductory tour of the Building when it was built, the local businessman Richard Smallbrook and his impact on the city of Birmingham. The introductory tour is a great way to gain some facts about the house but also introduce for your self guided tour of the house. On your self guided tour you can see array of brilliant rooms which are beautifully presented and are still in their wonderful medieval condition giving you an idea of how these rooms during that period. You can see some great medieval tables, chests and four poster beds which are in incredibly amazing condition. The gardens themselves are amazing and you can see fabulous views of the house and also marvel at its external architecture, which is amazing that the building has been in intact for so long. The staff are also very friendly and help providing a warm welcome and make the visit all the more pleasant. There is a shop selling a lovely variety of gifts at reasonable prices. Overall this is a fabulous and gem of a place to visit and makes for an outstanding day out. Well worth a visit in Birmingham.
