Small but perfectly formed museum with lots of things to do and very friendly staff. My boys enjoyed the Roman section of it (the main reason we went) but there were lots of other aspects of Castleford life to explore (mining, life in pictures, glass items).

Lovely little museum! I've been past here a million times and I've lived in castleford and I never knew this place existed! Small but interesting and quiet museum situated on the second floor of the library. Free entry and activities for children

Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this museum that we definitely found accessible, using a sign by the entrance to know the correct floor that we rose up to in an elevator! A lot of the exhibits are focused on Castleford, which felt refreshing since most museums aren't really centered around their town or city. The historic displays are marvellous and the pictures give a powerful delve into history, similarly to how the items represent Castleford trade well! A theatre collection from Keith makes for a nice addition and I spoke to the staff a few times, finding them to be patient and approachable.
