Nice attraction of the Jurassic coast walkway. Staged my friendly people and some very impressive local and recent fossils, it's well worth a trip. It's free, but give a donation to help them out. Some good kid friendly activities and a useful little shop. But the main thing to look at is the vocally don't fossils.

First of all im just editing this review, but will leave the rest as it is.. I know ive made a mistake on the place, coz all that came up was Charmouth heritage co and i assumed it was 'coastline' so have reviewed the whole area, but would like to leave it here as its such an amazing holiday destination for tranquility.... 😍...No rowdy gangs,no noisy slot machines. For a whole week we saw happy smiling faces, passers by saying hello. The entire village was an absolute delight. The type of holiday that was slow paced and safe, where families made their own entertainment, and actually spent time together. An easy walk from beach up into the village to the few shops, there is a chemist up there if needed. Some beautiful old buildings and history attached. The heritage centre seemed upstairs so we didn't do it,we're ok walking but that amount of stairs wasn't an option, but we was happy to take in the views.A lovely fossil shop on the beach thats been there over 25 years, loads to look at in there, there was loads of families down on the beach trying to find their own treasures too. if your feeling energetic then there's Stonebarrow hill to get up..and yes we did it, the view was breathtaking, a few seats up there to rest upon. Obviously keep to the correct pathways and shut gates afterwards. Plenty of parking but in the hight of the season these will fill quickly, but there was another one up Lower sea lane and just off up a side rd. Theres toilets available too. Food( which looked good) and drinks, buckets an spades, sun hats, lotions all your basic seaside needs. Benches to sit and rest. Would we go back ? dam right we would, the whole place is a perfect holiday but even more perfect to live there.

Beautiful spot to park and enjoy the stunning Jurassic Coast. We grabbed a hot drink and snack (it was still open at 5 p.m. when we were there so opening times maybe need updating (28/04/26) and to have a look at the fossil centre. Only took us 10 mins to find a fossil!! Beautiful coastline and wonderful walks from here either flat along the beach or up the hill. Just Park app for the car park now which is much easier than finding change.

The fossil heritage centre was incredible. Some very knowledgeable people and incredible exhibits to see. It was very child friendly and good for learning. Lots of interactive items and a man doing craft too. The beach was beautiful but super busy on a sunny spring day. We did manage to find a disabled spot but had to pay 1.50 an hour. Found a good spot to sit while my son did some fossil hunting, take a hammer with you they are 15 in the shop! The fossil and gem shop is amazing with lots of treasures to see. The only downside are the toilets, a big queue and they were ghastly, slightly flooded and filthy with sodden loo roll everywhere. Otherwise a nice time was had. A good walk along the cliffs for those energetic enough to do it.

A visit during Easter. Four kids and an adult. Free entry. A interesting museum with many fossils and the history of the find and the fossils itself. Many great exhibits and right next to the beach where you can find fossils. Don't forget the hammer like I did.
