Nice walk up from Crastor. Watch out the quarry car park is a rip off. £9.50 all day parking or £5.50 for a couple of hours. Use the first car park you come to on the right. It's just a field but £5.00 all day and the lady is really nice. When you get to the castle entrance there are NO ENTRY PRICES until you actually get into the castle which is about 200 yds further on. Very expensive for a ruin but did not we could have walked to the left before we got to the entrance and just wondered in.😏. Excellent views of the coast. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simply because the prices weren't advertised until you get inside. This grinds my gears. 😖. Side not: £3.50 for an egg🍳, tomato 🍅 & mushroom 🍄 sandwich at the van near the toilets is fabulous value are really nice.👍🏻

What an imposing castle! It's all ruins now but even the sense it must've given when it was fully built is incredible. The walk from Craster is about 20-30 minutes across fields and rocks. Might be difficult for those with mobility issues. The castle isn't even the best part. The views are spectacular from everywhere. I loved sitting and looking out over the water. Be careful going into the dark crevasses in the towers as there are birds inside - got the fright of my life!

The ruins are impressive but not as impressive as (say) Kenilworth (amazing) or many abbies and priories that have a bit more left and their artistic grandeur is still present. Dustanburgh's site on the shore is lovely and is best enjoyed on a bright and not too windy day. It is a long walk out there so be prepared. My gadgets told me it was 3.5 miles from the car park, around the entire site, and back again. There are toilets at the car park and within the castle complex after buying a ticket.

If there was ever a Time Machine invented , Dunstanburgh castle would be the place I went back in time to see in all its glory. This castle is one of the most dramatic and stunningly located castles in the UK. Yes there’s a walk to it, it is not free but if you have an English Heritage membership it is free to enter but the price of entry is well worth the fee to ensure this place survives for another 1000 years. It has incredible environmental friendly toilets, which is a new added bonus as otherwise it was a good walk back to Craster to use facilities. There are plenty of picnic benches, seating for a rest and to soak up the views of the North Sea. I cannot recommend a visit here highly enough, however if you choose to come to this beautiful place - REMEMBER TO LEAVE NO TRACE - take your rubbish home.

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The castle ruins sit between the sea and large green fields, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. The walk to the castle is very relaxing, with amazing coastal views along the way. If the weather is nice, it’s a perfect place for photos and enjoying nature. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Northumberland.
