Drove through Flint loads of times but never bothered with the castle until now & to be fair, considering it’s free, it is most definitely worth at least 30 minutes of your time. The spiral staircase up the tower & the view of the Dee estuary in particular are highlights. Pity the audio information buttons didn’t work, but feel cheeky complaining about that considering both the castle & parking are free, so this still gets 5 stars!

Great little castle ruins to visit. Free carpark nearby. It was raining when we had a visit. So it was quick. Noticed a friendly ginger and white cat on the grounds which followed us around.

Absolutely loved it, went with the family. Free parking is great, it also has electric charging points (I dont have an electric car) but its there if needed. The castle is amazing, views are great and its great how you can go to the top of the tower. Not many castles like this are free.

I really enjoyed my visit to Flint Castle. The ruins themselves are fascinating, but the real highlight is the beautiful seaside setting. You get a great view of the water and the surrounding coastline, which feels very peaceful. The paths are well-maintained and provide an easy walk, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It’s also a very dog-friendly location, and we saw many happy dogs enjoying the coastal breeze. Another huge plus is the convenience; there is plenty of free parking available, so you don't have to worry about expensive city-center rates or finding a space. It’s a wonderful, cost-effective way to spend a few hours in a historic and beautiful environment.
