Would not go again. Got the distinct impression the volunteers want it as their own personal garden/ allotment, and that visitors were an inconvenience. For example, a large number of the chairs and tables available are reserved for volunteers. They were completely empty and I couldn’t find anywhere else to sit (there was a school visiting at the same time who took up the remaining ‘public’ tables) so I sat down for 5 mins to feed my baby, only to be told I had to move, even though no volunteers were sitting there at the time. Additionally another volunteer told me off for using the wrong bin (there were no signs that I could see clarifying which bin was for what). I feel they would be better off charging the volunteers a small fee to rent it as a garden/ allotment rather than open it reluctantly to the public.

Visited this gorgeous place for the first time, it’s definitely Birmingham’s hidden gem! I was welcomed by such friendly staff and was offered a hot drink. It is free to enter and the cuppa was also free however, there is a quirky box for donations. I attended the green woodwork workshop and loved it, the teachers are so nice and very knowledgable. Step by step, easy to follow instructions were given and I didn’t think I could make something out of wood and I proved myself wrong I made a small butter knife. Gardens are unreal, so many different types of plants and trees has that countryside feel to it. There are toilets on site too which is a bonus. There is no cafe so a packed lunch for a picnic on the beautiful grounds would be ideal. So many lovely handmade unique benches to sit on or just merely admire. Had a great day, will definitely visit again. Thank you for your hospitality and giving me a wonderful day ☺️

Amazing gardens. They grow lots of vegetables and fruits, helped by people with disabilities. Great day out with the kids where they can learn how different veggies and fruits are grown. Toilets available. Great little venue for outdoor party too.
