Loved this museum, free to visit and you don’t feel pressured to donate like the museums in London! The exhibitions are well designed and interactive. The information boards are captivating and informative. Very friendly helpful staff!
The National Museum of Cardiff is easily walkable from the city center. It’s a high quality museum with many interesting exhibits. It’s easy to spend a couple hours here exploring. Admission is free (leave a donation!) and there is a cafe and gift shop on the first floor. Overall, I had a wonderful visit. The natural history portion of the museum was my favorite.
An absolutely fantastic museum. The current dinosaur exhibition is phenomenal and informative. The entire wing dedicated to flora and fauna is extensive. The galleries upstairs cater for all enthusiasts . Classic, modern, sculpture, pottery. They've got them all covered. The cafe and restaurant are both reasonably priced. And the biggest incentive, is it all free. Perfect for adults and children. I can't recommend it enough.
A wonderful museum with something for everyone. The exhibits are well presented and cover a wide range of topics, from natural history and geology to art and Welsh heritage. The collections are impressive, and it’s easy to spend several hours exploring and learning something new. The building itself is beautiful, and the museum is well organized and family-friendly. Best of all, entry is free, making it a fantastic place to visit while in Cardiff. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, culture, art, or simply looking for an enjoyable day out.
National Museum Cardiff is an absolute jewel in Wales' cultural crown. Located in Cardiff's grand, Edwardian civic center, it is a world-class cultural institution that pulls off a rare feat: it is equally captivating for serious art lovers and families with dinosaur-obsessed kids. Admission is completely free. It seamlessly bridges the gap between scientific wonder and artistic beauty, making it arguably the best rainy-day activity (or sunny-day escape) in the capital. Whether you are there for the Monets or the mammoths, you won't leave disappointed.
