The museum is upstairs in the library. So much local history on display, dating back to Roman times and beyond. Fascinating to read about local industries and Newport life. With free entry also.

Great couple of hours out, good for all ages. They even have a sheet that children can fill out, which encourages children to really engage in the educational side of the trip.

A fantastic free museum! I could have spent a few hours in here if i’d had more time. Highly recommended if you’re interested in studio pottery or ceramics as the gallery showcased a huge array, from Wally Keeler to coronation mugs. A visit while in Newport is a must!
