One of my favourite places to visit. Totally unspoilt. No facilities, but we'll preserved, enclosed area, and lovely and quiet if you're lucky. Lovely walks from there too, but not a lot of parking, and access is down a narrow farm lane. Can be walked to from further away, where there is a proper car park. We have visited in summer and winter, in the week and at weekends, and it can get busy at certain times of the day. There are often horses being exercised in the area, so dogs are best on leads.

Lots to see and a good amount of information about the castle. Doesn't cost anything (other than fuel to get there) and kept the kids entertained for a good half an hour at least. We all loved crossing the river/stream, although I would suggest bringing a towel just incase you slip into the water. Definitely worth the visit!

Out and about with the Grandchildren, beautiful place to visit. There is another castle a short walk away in the trees and sand dunes across the stepping stones, it's well worth a walk . Be careful of the car park, as the river is tidal so be mindful of where you park. and also the stepping stones get covered by the tide.

Great place by the River Ogmore, the castle is a ruin but it's so picturesque. You can use the stepping stones to get across the river then a nice walk to a bathing spot near the white bridge you will see in the distance. If you like horse riding, there is a farm nearby where you can do this. Also a nice pub just a stone throw away. Definitely going back on a sunny day and take a picnic.

It's a really beautiful and peaceful place. The ruins of the castle were almost small but it's enough to tell you a lot about the history. The stepping stones were totally amazing as well but the tides came in so it made the stones quite slippery and made some slightly submerged in the water — recommend sturdy shoes or boots. Overall I really liked it! There's also a small village if you cross the river and its also really beautiful; lots of horses and you're also surrounded by nature. However, if you'd want to return to the castle without taking the stepping stones, you'd have to take a path which goes through a field (which is not so long) and then cross the bridge to the entry. There's more to see at Ogmore Castle not just the ruins of the castle. There are no lunches or snacks so I recommend you bring your own. It's also a good place for families and picture taking
