Definitely a good exhibition but only for mobile people. Lots of stairs and tight spaces to negotiate. Not just Oliver's home, a family home showing off the lives of 17th century people. It was a tough time for them, with few entertainments. The exhibition dwells on the civil war and Oliver's part in it. The staff pleasant and very helpful, encouraging us to use the recorded tour device. Not cheap, but worth it if you like this period of time.

An £8.25 entrance fee, I thought was reasonable (May 2026). The staff were very pleasant & helpful. It is an audio tour and there is extensive written information so something for everyone. The house isn't very big but there is so much information in every room. I thought the visit was good value for money and very informative. I would definitely recommend it.

A very good and clear audio headphone set gave an interesting explanation of all the exhibits, which were mainly full scale reproduction items. Well worth a visit. We went at a quiet time, Saturday late pm. Check for pre-booking.
