Visited IOM last week. Had a great time.. heritage railways, great museum in Douglas. Drove to Peel on our last morning. The castle was impressive and the beach is beautiful. I specifically noticed the clarity of the sea water. You must go there.

Quite possibly the best castle I have visited. A surprisingly large complex, and not overrun with other tourists allowing you to fully enjoy the place

Currently closed for maintenance which is unfortunate although this is also off-season. This impressive ancient castle can still be viewed from outside, and you can still circumnavigate it on foot via a pathway. Best views are from the nearby Peel Hill which is an easy incline opposite the castle as shown in the photos here. All free-of-charge so leave your wallet at home and enjoy the view.

There are times to go in to this castle and times not. We were there during a windy rainy day and I would have stayed longer in the dry or sun. It's a great place to visit so I hope the weather is kinder to you!
