It's a shame that this beach has had to be covered with a huge pile of pebbles as part of a scheme to protect Penrhyn Bay and Rhos-on-Sea from rising sea levels. I can understand why it's had to be done but it's now quite difficult to walk on the beach and you need to tide to be out to be able to see much sand.
So sad to see how neglected and overrun with weeds the beachfront is. I grew up there and it was always well maintained. The railing posts haven't been painted for years by the looks of it. Things would probably look lovely if there were more tourists. Obviously the residents don't matter.
Beautiful place great for rick pooling.
Peaceful, usually quiet. Stony at high tide, and sandy areas at low tide with very clear water.
Calm, beautiful and unspoilt - that's Penrhyn Bay beach. Great for walking the dog or playing with small children (they're not incompatible), or simply sitting and watching the sea coming or going. A wee bit of Welsh heaven.
