Absolutely STUNNING beach..! Loved sunbathing here and even swimming,, water quality seemed ok and didn’t catch a disease which is always a bonus..! Wouldn’t be that lucky in the Solent 👍 Very sandy (I think it gets shipped down and deposited) but a lack of shells which is a shame. No doggies allowed however I have seen on MULTIPLE occasions, people sneaking them in..

A nice clean beach, dog/walkers were also present, not too sure if there is times dogs are not allowed in the beach like in other beaches I’ve visited in the summer in Devon.

I used to visit here as a young lad with my grandparents, and at 71 I hoped to enjoy a bit of nostalgia. Sadly, it’s not as easy as it was in the 60s — you can’t just wander through anymore, and even trying to book somewhere to stay with our Puggy proved difficult. After a lot of searching, I eventually gave up. Once you’re in, it’s still a lovely place, but the simplicity and ease I remember from childhood just isn’t there now. If you’re travelling with a dog or hoping for a straightforward visit, be prepared for a bit of a challenge.

Sand bay beach is such a nice place to go. The beach never feels too crowded, and the sand is perfect for just chilling or playing games. The views are lovely, especially when it’s sunny, and it’s a great spot for a walk. There’s loads of places nearby to get food or ice cream, which is always a bonus. It’s just got a really relaxed vibe and is perfect for hanging out with friends or family. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for an easy, chill day out 🙂

A great beach for the dog although there is a dog ban from 1st May to 30th September. The walk down is fairly steep, toilets, shop and restaurant with a terrace available. I stayed on the Haven site so not sure about public access. The best way to visit would be by bus that stops near the beach.
