Lovely sandy beach. Very shallow, so very safe for children. Amazingly quiet given the hot sunny weather, but then some road works were going on on the north side of the beach, which may have put people off. Much better for families than Rest Bay.

A nice wide beach with soft sand. It is quite sheltered, so no waves. There are toilets, stalls and a pub round by the arcade. There are derelict buildings behind the beach, but you can walk along to where there are sand dunes. Rest bay beach just along the coast is quieter, more scenic and better for surfing, but check tide times as there is no beach there at high tide.

A great beach for playing ball, walking along the water, or simply sitting and relaxing with the family. We love this place.

Lovely beach and great having the bars and kiosks at the back. A decision needs to be made about dogs on this bay, friend's didn't bring their dog as per website guidance and it being peak season, but there were plenty of dogs being walked on the sand.

Sandy Bay Beach in Porthcawl is a beautiful and lively seaside spot with a wide sandy shoreline and a very relaxing coastal atmosphere. The beach stretches along the promenade and offers lovely views of the Bristol Channel. The open space, fresh sea air, and sound of the waves make it a great place for a peaceful walk or simply enjoying the sea. When I visited, I had a really unique experience because I saw a group doing a Christmas sea bath. It was quite surprising and fun to watch people jumping into the cold sea water together during the festive season. The atmosphere was very cheerful, and everyone seemed excited and full of energy. It made the beach feel lively and memorable. The beach itself is very clean and spacious, which makes it perfect for relaxing, walking along the shore, or just enjoying the scenery. Even when there are people around, it still feels open and refreshing because of the wide sandy area. Another great thing about Sandy Bay Beach is the beautiful view during sunrise or sunset, when the sky colours reflect on the water and the whole place looks stunning. Overall, Sandy Bay Beach in Porthcawl is a wonderful seaside destination. The combination of natural beauty, fresh sea breeze, and unique experiences like the Christmas sea bath makes it a very enjoyable place to visit.
