Visit websiteThe Gardens are well worth a visit. They are extensive and varied. We enjoyed the peace and were delighted to find some shady spots on a very hot day. We noted many plants and trees that we had not seen before. The Japanese Garden was lovely with its rocky pools filled with miniature waterlillies in flower. Hidden amongst the leaves we saw a number of tiny ducklings close by their mother on her nest and some bigger ones bobbing around on the water. The roses in the walled garden close to the Manor House wer in full bloom. I paid a brief visit to look inside the house which was also most attractive. The crypt dating back to Norman times shows how far bck the history goes.. The cafe was very good and we enjoyed sitting sheltered from the sun by a Pergoli covered with a grapevine.
A very relaxing time. The gardens are beautiful. The information provide in the house is very informative but not overwhelming. Definitely the enhances your visit
Lovely garden worth a visit. Great stream and waterfall. Also ticket entrance to the house. Not sure on the new graffiti on the toilets. Ticket price £15 could be slightly cheaper.
At first, it looked quite nice. The gardens looked good and the sunny views made it very nice. It was quiet and barely anyone was there. When I went past the manor, it felt quite barren. The gardens weren't as colourful and vibrant as I expected and it was just twigs and branches. It was also very muddy and I felt like the area wasn't cared for very well. Overall, I don't think its worth almost 20 pounds for me and my mum it because of all the maintenance and the lack of things to do
Very poor. The gardens leave a lot to be desired on the whole. Very little gardening or upkeep of the gardens. No information about the history of the house, and you cannot go inside. The Carriages can only be seen on a guided tour of one converted stable between 12.45 and 3pm Monday to Friday!!!! Obviously we visited on a Sunday!🤦♀️ The only saving grace was the Chinese gardens. Not cheap to visit £19.50 for 2!!We managed an hour and 10 minutes! Gardens were really poorly tended. Very disappointing.
