Amazing little museum, especially when you consider it's free! I'd genuinely recommend it to anyone visiting Brecon to help give a feel for the local area and history. I only grew up in Montgomeryshire but there was still so much I didn't know and I loved learning while we were here. The courtroom is the real highlight and makes a visit worth it alone.
What a wonderful library! The staff are very helpful and friendly, lovely places to sit (including a couple of soundproof), a cafe, art gallery…. Was chuffed to come upon this gem.
I only visited the library, but it was lovely. Inside there is a great cafe, and the library has many places to sit and read or write. While I was there, a group of women were gathered for a knitting circle. Outside are benches and flowering paths. The librarian I spoke to was very helpful.
For a 'small' museum this really does fit an amazing amount of exhibits in, and yet nothing feels crammed in. We were astounded by the wide array of interesting objects and times explored. More still to see but we only had so much time we could enjoy here today. No problem though as it's just another excuse to return soon. We love it here!
We had an excellent time here. The layout of the Museum and Gallery makes it an easy walk around with many information sources and interactive elements. The courtroom and the photo exhibition were our favourites, the attendant who assisted us when we arrived was very friendly and informative. It is very wheelchair friendly with lifts between floors. A must do in Brecon.
