Great place to visit if you enjoy medieval castle ruins and a good view from the top. The English Heritage employee, Kirsten, was absolutely wonderful, told us lots about the history of the castle and was very friendly. We recommend strongly!

Lovely place to visit. Toilet on site, lovely staff members, and a few benches to eat lunch on. You are also able to climb up inside the building, with good views. Please read all signs though, as the land either side of this is private property, so until you get through the fence/gate stay on the path.

Beautiful castle in an amazing position next to a river! Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Short walk from the gift shop to the castle. Spent time exploring and imagining what it would be like in its day! Well worth visiting.

Lovely castle full of history. The volunteers that run it were superb and very helpful. The weather was awful but that did not detract from the visit. I would highly recommend going.
