A lovely location to enjoy a great day out. So much to do from picnicking opposite the castle, going around the watermill and castle. Plenty of things to do and see in the castle for families and individuals alike. Watching the wildlife in the water and also in the countryside. Good cafe in the castle grounds.

Lovely wander around carew castle, its not massive but definitely worth a visit and a wander down to the water mill! We had 5 dogs with us, so no problem taking your hounds! They are very dog friendly.

Great ruin, packed with history. Great for a day visit or just an afternoon. If the weather's fine, a picnic is great. Plenty of tables. Lots to explore. Lovely shop with a wealth of items for all ages. Gorgeous setting. Great views of the river birds. Playground nearby, toilets on site. Disability friendly but there are steps in areas of the ruin, so not all areas accessible. Free parking with short walk from the car park and the mill is also within walking distance. My 3-year-old granddaughter loved it.

Rather spectacular castle remains - QR codes dotted around help tell the story. And with entry to the fascinating Tidal Mill, fantastic value for money. And...you can take dogs throughout. And......a lovely café. All round great spot

Just what a Norman castle should be. Plenty to explore if the castle itself including halls, towers, a chapel and various crypts. There were plenty of information panels around to read which set the scene and told the history of the place effectively. The Mill is a pleasant walk away and is similarly well presented. Tea and cakes were good in the Nest cafe. We spent a bit more than 3 hours here and all very much enjoyed it.
