Lots of rooms/spiral stairs/battlements/information displays. Audio tour via QR codes and the regular free guided tours are well worth it. Cafe is good with a range of snacks and cakes. Book on line for a 10% discount and park in one of the free carparks, try West Street.

Absolutely worth the visit, so glad I came here. Learnt so much and its so big. Climbed the 100 spiral steps to the top of the tower and the view was fantastic. Well worth the £13 admission food and drink served there and the staff were great

You have to pay for parking and the walk to the castle 🏰 which took us abouts 5 minutes. Buy your tickets at the ticket office then enter a magical castle. There is so much to do and see, we spent 4 hours here but I think you spend more time here. There is so many steps up and down and lots of rooms. It seemed to never end. The actual castle and grounds were fantastic, great and magical. There are free guided tours which you can do but we didn't do them. There is a restaurant here and toilets here aswell. Like I say lots of steps and narrow passage ways. All in all fantastic.

We had a lovely few hours exploring the castle- the scenes really brought the history to life, the information boards were great and admission price was very reasonable. We had food in the cafe before exploring- the staff were very friendly and the food was so delicious and great to taste local ingredients. I managed to pick up a plant in the plant sale after spotting the same one in the kitchen garden which I was so happy about!

A really amazing castle to visit. More than just an average ruin with walls, you get to climb inside the towers, and walk along the ramparts, and explore a paleolithic cave, dungeons, and climb the keep. Also not too busy (we came in April). Really stunning and worthwhile! Would come again. Definitely need strong legs for all the steps, good shoes, and a head for heights, the steps are very steep and narrow in places.
