My destination today was Westgate on sea but the tide was high and the beaches covered so decided to walk further along the coast path looking for somewhere to lye down and enjoy the sunshine. After a very nice walk by the sea I came across this big but quiet beach (July but on a Monday) and decided it was the right place for me today and set camp. the water was warm! Very dog friendly, loads of picturesque beach houses..I was meant to catch my train back to London 2 hours ago but I don’t want to leave. Only downside.. water is far away specially during low tide and there are loads of algae. I’ve still had a great time.

Good sandy beach. Free on road parking and pay and display car park at the back of the restaurants. Good enough space for kids to play and surprisingly they keep some beach toys to borrow. In case you forget to carry beach toysYou can find the beach toys to borrow when you go down the slop to the beach. Good food but limited choices. Overall good experience.

One of my absolutely fave beaches in the world. Endless dog walks in all directions. Two good pubs/ cafes and the best sunset in South East England with the iconic Reculver towers in the background. Shouldn't leave a review as we don't really want any more people discovering this absolute gem.

A perfect beach for the family - very shallow beach which means you have to go a long way to seldom. It also means the tide comes in very fast and at high tide most of the beach is underwater. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 and dogs are allowed after the turned groin. Plenty of free parking but there is also a car park you have to pay for. Public toilets are available and plenty of places for icecreams, drinks, food. You can also hire bikes to go along the sea wall to Reculver (or further). Lots of beach huts that you can hire. The lifeguarded section can get very busy. Our grandchildren loved their time on the beach.
